Kasthamandap is a multi-storied temple which is located in Maru Tole, Kathmandu “the heart of Nepalâ€. This temple is dedicated to the mythological legend Gorakhnath, a follower of Machhindranath. This memorial is also said the most prominent pagodas of Nepal. It is believed to be structured from a single tree and has been built by King Narsingha.
History
Gorakhnath traveled Nepal during the procession of Machhindranath morphing and acted as a normal human being. But a tantrik recognized him and caught him under a spell. Then Gorakhnath asked that tantrik to free him in exchange of making a wish. The tantrik wished to have materials to construct this temple and in the then next season a large tree grew in the farmland of the tantrik. With the barks and wood of this single tree, the whole temple was structured and constructed.
